Salary: £33,366 - £34,314 (market factor supplement £6,000 p/a over 3 years = £500/month)
Are you an experienced fire safety professional who can bring your knowledge and expertise to help us support, influence and embed an excellent fire safety culture?
We're looking for someone to support our Health and Safety team, who will be integral to developing and delivering compliant management practices. Reporting to one of our Health and Safety Business Partners, and acting as a key contact, you will provide support across all council service areas. You will be involved in developing corporate fire safety procedures and service level procedures, conducting fire safety risk assessments, and supporting services with fire safety related advice and guidance.
Through reducing and controlling fire safety risks to our employees, customers and communities, your role will help to ensure that the Council complies with its statutory duties as an employer under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and Health and Safety at Work Act and responsibilities under other relevant acts/ regulations.
Who we are looking for…
We're looking for an experienced and proactive fire safety professional with strong knowledge of fire safety laws, including the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and the Health and Safety at Work Act. You'll have solid experience giving fire safety advice and carrying out risk assessments across a range of buildings and services. This is a great opportunity to join a large, diverse organisation, working both independently and as part of a supportive team.
Ideally you will already hold an active Graduate grade membership of the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) or have a qualification meeting the academic requirement for Graduate Member grade such as IFE Level 3 Diploma / former Graduate examination. However, applications are welcomed from those who may already be working towards this but have appropriate knowledge and experience.
