The Role
ECOM is seeking a target driven, process oriented and collaborative Digital Product Owner to support the streamlined digitisation of first mile data in ECOM Origins. As the Product Owner you will be responsible for bringing design-thinking and technical know-how to define, bring together, and align product requirements. This role will involve identifying and supporting ECOM to identify opportunities for digitising first mile data and designing first mile solutions within a team environment. The Product Owner will have a strong focus on engagement with internal clients and the end user. The position will require travel to origin to understand operations, test the application(s) and the end user’s work environment.
Responsibilities
Tasks will include:
- To create and be responsible for the product(s) roadmap—prioritising features, handling the backlog, and adapting plans quickly in response to shifting needs or insights.
- To research and propose innovative ideas to improve, simplify or automate the First Mile data collection processes, data utilisation and visualisation.
- Coordinate with the business users to prepare change requests and write user stories that clearly outline business requirements for development teams
- Communicate progress and timelines clearly and frequently to internal customers, stakeholders, and collaborators
- Track progress of developments or customisations and monitor test results against requirements
- Build a deep understanding of users and their needs, and to shape clear and commercially sound business cases to support opportunity requirements.
- Meet with stakeholders, customers, users and managers on related products
- Support in bridging the gap between the implementation team and the business teams to ensure integration with third parties is completed successfully
- Work closely with Global Transformation Team and Global IT
- Contribute to strengthen the first mile digitisation process in ECOM
Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in any subject area
- An MBA or a Master’s degree in a related field would be an advantage
- 4+ years of experience in a similar role and related field.
- Knowledge and experience of field operations for soft commodities
- Ability to think strategically and creatively
- Ability to work with partial information, manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously, manage trade-offs and evaluate new opportunities
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage at different levels and across various stakeholders
- Experience and knowledge of project management tools
