About the role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a
Foreman to join our UK Construction Services team in the South East. This role will be responsible for managing the safe and efficient delivery of allocated worksites and projects, ensuring high-quality standards, achieving contract milestones, and meeting financial targets.
What you'll be doing
As a
Foreman, you will:
- Work under the guidance of the Project Manager and General Foreman to deliver individual sections safely and effectively.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, client, and company requirements, policies, and instructions.
- Lead by example in supporting and implementing safety initiatives and the company’s Safety Behavioural Programme.
- Contribute to the ‘Build to Last’ Business Improvement Programme, including the Supervisor Development Programme (SDP).
- Implement systems and processes to meet project requirements, including Quality Plans, Completion Packs, and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
- Conduct weekly site inspections and implement action plans to address findings promptly.
- Maintain excellent client relationships through effective communication and timely reporting.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives on the project.
- Ensure proper site records are maintained, including diaries, plant, labour, material returns, and change records.
- Approve and implement Project Quality Plans, Safety Plans, Work Package Plans, and Tool Box Talks.
- Manage subcontractors and suppliers to ensure compliance with contractual and safety requirements.
Who we're looking for
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Strong knowledge and practical experience in groundworks techniques and processes.
- Experience working in safety-critical environments (rail, nuclear, oil, gas, etc.).
- Previous experience working in defence, nuclear, or secure facilities.
- 5-day CITB Site Safety Management Training certification.
- Proficiency in IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, and internet).
- A full UK driving license.
- Excellent communication skills and professionalism in representing Balfour Beatty.
- The ability to work under pressure while maintaining focus and professionalism.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to propose effective solutions.
- A collaborative approach to working with others to achieve shared objectives.
