We have a fantastic opportunity for a FP&A Manager to join our Group Finance team here at Domestic & General. The FP&A Manager role leads the planning and consolidation of Group financial forecasts, covering P&L, balance sheet and cash flow, covering the annual five-year planning cycle and subsequent reforecasts throughout the year.
Working alongside the FP&A Systems Manager, and supported by a Finance Analyst, the FP&A Manager is responsible for:
(i) Managing the Group budget timetable
(ii) The development and maintenance of forecasting models and templates for use by those inputting into the budget process
(iii) Developing and communicating planning assumptions to be used within forecasts
(iv) Consolidating all inputs to form Group forecast, working with Finance and Commercial stakeholders to understand and explain drivers and variances
(v) Development and maintenance of a group Risks and Opportunities tracker.
(vi) Creation of budget presentations to support Exco and Board review and sign-off
(vii) Work with Financial Controller and Treasury teams to develop cash flow reporting and short-term forecast
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders inputting into the Group forecast to deliver budgets on time and with clear understanding of all drivers and variances
- Ownership of all relevant forecasting inputs, producing consistent and accurate financial outputs driven by efficient models
- Maintain an effective and collaborative relationship with Finance and Commercial teams ensuring that all risks and opportunities are well understood
- Continually assess the quality and efficiency of all FP&A processes and outputs, identifying and delivering improvements
- Production of all Group forecast materials to enable Exco and Board to review and sign-off plans
- Maintenance of a “one truth” set of financial data, working closely with the FP&A systems manager.
Skills And Experience Required:
- Ability to take a proactive approach with critical thinking and curious mindset to get into the detail to identify and solve root causes of issues
- Previous experience of FP&A in a complex, fast paced environment
- Professional accounting qualification
- Good knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Ability to navigate planning system – to understand, create and optimize outputs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; interpersonal and collaborative skills
- Ability to influence professional relationships with senior management of all disciplines
- Strategic thinking capability
- Ability to operate effectively in a complex business environment
- Confident in holding self and others to account
- Commercial acumen
