Full Stack Developer

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Full Stack Developer to work for our client within the finance sector. This is initially a 12-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in Glasgow.

Our client is seeking a Full Stack Developer to work on strategic initiatives to scale and modernise their own client platform to enhance client experience, effectively manage client risk and margin and maximise efficiency. Their Client Portfolio Risk and Margin team is responsible for Client Margin and Risk Management across Retail WM, PB Hedge Funds, OTC Derivatives, Listed, Commodities and FX desks. You will be responsible for direct business face-off and developing their strategy in the EMEA region.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable web applications across the full technology stack
• Collaborate with product managers, data engineers, and analysts to define and deliver technical solutions
• Write clean, efficient, and testable code using modern frameworks and practices
• Maintain and enhance existing systems to meet evolving business needs
• Ensure security, performance, and reliability of all applications
• Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and troubleshooting throughout the development lifecycle
• Support deployment pipelines and participate in DevOps practices such as CI/CD and monitoring

Requirements

• Between 2-5 years’ experience as a full stack developer
• Proven experience in the finance sector (banks, fintechs, investment firms, etc.)
• Proficiency in front-end technologies
• Strong back-end experience with languages
• Experience working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and APIs (RESTful and/or GraphQL)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Strong understanding of financial systems, data integrity, and security best practices
• Understanding of Design patters and Testing Frameworks focusing on end-to-end testing
