We currently have an exciting new opportunity for a General Manager to join our team in Washington.

Accountability
- Responsible for the General Management of the Washington facility.
- Accountable for the day-to-day operations of the Washington facility.
- Lead and assist in the development of growth.
- Grow the business from the Washington facility engaging with clients as required in conjunction with the BD/Sales team.
- Full KPI and financial responsibility for the Washington.
- Promote a culture of personal accountability amongst all staff, recognising and praising ‘above the line’ performance whilst taking appropriate action to address and correct ‘below the line’ behaviour when it is found.
- Develop a culture of employee involvement such that the employees are fully engaged with the goals and ambitions of the company.
- Continuously lead the maintenance and development of an active and positive HSEQ culture.
- Ensure that the HSEQ culture and working practices are in accordance with all required standards and client requirements.
- Open and timely communication and management of all risks and opportunities available to enhance Company performance.
- Ensure optimum use of Company resources and prioritise project work.
- Actively lead colleagues to continuously improve the companies working practices.
- Adhere to all Company policies and procedures including quality, safety, environmental and HR.
- Attend customer meetings as required to help secure contracts and maintain high level client relationships.
- Ensure intercompany co-operation and add value to the Glacier Group.
- Maintain strict confidentiality on all matters relating to company business.
- Look after company interests at all times.
Duties
- Ensure AESSOP is populated and implemented fully to ensure reports are accurate and up-to-date.
- Oversee daily operations for the business unit including all workshop activities.
- Achieve site objectives by establishing plans, budgets, and results measurements; allocating resources; reviewing progress; making mid-course corrections.
- Increase operational effectiveness by recruiting, training, coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees; communicating values, strategies, and objectives; assigning accountabilities; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; developing a climate for offering information and opinions.
- Take ownership of live projects / scopes of work from the project engineers and run with them through to completion.
- Record and report back to project engineers any deviations from work scopes or cost variations.
- Strive to implement improvements to the business’s commercial potential.
Requirements
- Sound educational background minimum HNC mechanical engineering preferred.
- Good mechanical engineering knowledge.
- Strong financial and business acumen.
- Good working knowledge of ISO9001 14001 requirements.
- Sound understanding of HSE legislation, management systems and practices.
- Ability to present and appropriately challenge business leadership.
- Proven background overseeing operations and implementing improvement changes.
- Good understanding of HSE legislation, management systems and practices.
- Proven experience in a customer facing role, resolving after sales quality issues.
- Well-developed interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Good analytical and reporting skills.
- IT literate with specific experience using Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint programs.
