Role Overview

Join IMI Adaptas UK and be a part of overseeing and directing operations for a world-class life sciences manufacturing plant. You will ensure the achievement of metrics (Safety, Quality, Inventory, Delivery, Cost and People) in our operations organization.
The General Manager/Site Leader directs and manages all plant operations for all 3 buildings with overall responsibility for delivering product to customers on time and on budget. The Site Leader is responsible for safety culture and the well-being of all employees, employee engagement, and company assets.
You will leverage your team's experience and skills to perform activities in a variety of cross-functional areas including production planning and control, total quality management, facilities, material management, and manufacturing engineering.
The Site Leader functions as the key decision maker on strategic and on-going business matters affecting the facility. The incumbent will plan, determine, and establish long-range and short-term manufacturing objectives consistent with expected customer demand and forecasts, current backlog, inventory goals and plant capacity. In addition, monitoring and managing workforce levels and productivity, machine uptime and productivity and manufacturing space and capacities.
The Site Leader ensures the safety and well-being of all employees in the workplace while assuring all government safety regulations are followed.

Key Responsibilities
- Foster a culture of zero tolerance for health and safety violations, aiming for zero lost time accidents (LTAs).
- Guide the organization on its LEAN journey, enhancing productivity, efficiency, and quality through continuous improvement practices.
- Ensure cost-effective operations across all areas of the facility by providing overall direction and guidance to management in budgeting and planning decisions.
- Increase return on investment through strategic planning and forecasting, while developing and managing profits, plans, and budgets.
- Implement cost-effective control systems over capital, operating expenditures, labor, wages, salaries, and turnover.
- Ensure products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance through ongoing training, motivation, and problem-solving efforts.
- Partner with sales and customer service teams to lead the business in ensuring customer satisfaction, market share growth, and profitable expansion.
- Drive operational transformation and growth by continuously evaluating and improving operational processes and systems.
- Support the growth of the site by identifying opportunities for process optimization, scaling operations, and ensuring sustainable performance.
Critical Competencies For Success
- 10+ years of relevant operational experience, preferably in a LEAN manufacturing environment.
- B.A. / B.S. in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration – not required but a plus.
- Ability to lead teams through site improvements with a hands-on, "fixer" mentality, urgently addressing issues and driving the necessary transformations to unlock growth and enhance profitability.
- LEAN manufacturing certification.
- Decision Making – Ability to quickly and efficiently gather input from various sources to make informed business decisions.
- Leadership Skills – Must be aligned with the principles outlined in the IMI Way. Organizationally savvy, creative, and a strong communicator. Demonstrated ability to forge and maintain effective and influential internal and external working relationships.
- Problem Solving and Analysis – Proven history of utilizing LEAN tools for problem solving and analysis.
- Financial Management – Demonstrated history of achieving optimum profit and business growth through effective planning, cost control, and/or full P&L leadership.
