Life Unlimited.
At Smith+Nephew, we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living!
We’re on the lookout for someone who’s ready to take ownership of a global category that plays a key role in improving patient outcomes.
In this role, you’ll take ownership for the strategy and supplier relationships for our Advanced Wound Devices Finished Goods—working closely with teams across the business to drive innovation, ensure quality, and deliver value. If you enjoy collaborating across functions, navigating complexity, and making things happen, this could be a great fit.
What will you be doing?
In this role, you’ll take the lead on managing our Advanced Wound Devices Finished Goods category. That means shaping and delivering the category strategy, working closely with suppliers, and collaborating across teams to make sure everything runs smoothly—from sourcing and supplier performance to supporting contract manufacturing.
You’ll be the go-to person for supplier decisions, contract negotiations, and ensuring we’re meeting both internal standards and regulatory requirements. You’ll also play a key role in identifying cost-saving opportunities, driving continuous improvement, and helping us stay ahead of industry trends. It’s a hands-on role with global reach, where your ideas and actions will make a real difference.
What does success look like?
Success in this role means becoming a trusted expert and strategic partner across the business. You’ll be known for building strong supplier relationships, making smart sourcing decisions, and keeping things moving—whether that’s supporting new product launches, improving supplier performance, or driving cost efficiencies.
You’ll be proactive in spotting risks and opportunities, confident in navigating complex contracts, and comfortable working across functions to get things done. If you’re someone who thrives on ownership, collaboration, and making a measurable impact, you’ll do great here.
Successful candidates would need the following:
- Proven experience in procurement, ideally 5–7 years in a regulated, matrixed environment that has set governance around our processes and ways of working.
- A background in plastics manufacturing—particularly with injection moulding suppliers.
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage complex supplier relationships.
