Entry level pipeline engineer part of the pipeline engineering team supporting Costain engineering efforts from Front End and detailed design through to construction and commissioning of Energy projects. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pipeline Graduate Engineer to join our team; with us you will receive training to develop your technical competency in pipeline engineering through broad exposure to different aspects of pipeline design and construction management projects. As your knowledge and experience develops the role will grow to include pipeline mechanical design, route selection and other critical aspects of pipeline design. Costain is positioning itself to become a key player in the transition to green and sustainable energy solutions. Our new projects include Carbon Capture and Hydrogen Generation, Storage and Distribution from Concept, FEED, Detail Design, Construction and Commissioning. Costain Graduate Development Programme
Our programme will focus on helping individual to learn a mix of both Leadership and Technical skills.
We offer a structured training programme to enable graduates to work towards achieving Chartership in their chosen field.
Graduates may also have the opportunity, after the first 8 – 10 months to rotate and to work on a number of exciting and progressive projects around the UK during the 2-year period, experiencing the best we have to offer across the different sectors we work in.
Our line managers are fully supportive of the Graduate Development Programme and will be involved in helping you along the way.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the delivery of design work in accordance with Company Procedures under the guidance of a Lead Engineer
- To assist and support the Pipeline Engineering Team for the planning of adequate resources and to monitor and report design progress.
- To report back to the Lead Pipeline Engineer and/or Discipline Manager comments and recommendations for continuous improvements in performance and removal of constraints.
- To be aware of legal and organisational responsibilities regarding Health, Safety Sustainability and Environmental issues with respect to employees, contractors, clients and third parties, ensuring that activities are all managed in accordance with Company policy and client requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering; Mechanical & Civil preferred, will consider other Engineering degrees as well
- Formal Education or previous work in Pipeline Engineering is desirable
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in and contribute to a team environment
- Proficient in Microsoft office tools and project management software.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Mobility to work on various projects and locations over the 2-year programme throughout the UK
- Be a team player with excellent communication skills and proactive in engaging with colleagues and relevant stakeholders
- Work with paramount consideration of Health, Safety, Environment, Risk Reduction and management.
