Group Accountant

About the team and the role:

Volante Global are looking for a Group Accountant to take the lead on maintaining the ledger and management accounts of several legal entities within the group.

The role will report to the Head of Group Accounting and will be responsible in ensuring journals are posted correctly into the ledger and accounts are accurately prepared for internal and external reporting. Key deliverable is to ensure a timely month-end submission to Group, working with the Assistant Accountants and FP&A in preparing an accurate set of group consolidated accounts.

The role will be working in a team that covers 25+ entities with 10 different currencies across various geographical locations. The candidate will have experience working in a multi-entity environment and be adaptable to different local regulations and jurisdictions. The candidate will be a team player who is happy to get involved in day-to-day finance activities and has a “can do” attitude.

How you'll contribute

:• Prepare and review month-end journals and reconciliations by working with different areas of the business to ensure all transactions are properly reflecte

d• Preparation of support schedules and back up to the management account

s• Preparation of relevant balance sheet reconciliations, in line with group polic

y• Maintaining loan schedules, intercompany reconciliations, and regular oversight of Accounts Payabl

e• Performing payroll reconciliations across various overseas entitie

s• Liaise with FP&A to review variances and complete analysis for Group reportin

g• Assist with the consolidation proces

s• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standard

s• Assist with implementing a robust control environment and maintaining adherence to company and accounting policie

s• Provide support and manage audit queries for internal and external audit

s• Build, document and support process improvement

s• Assist with the preparation of VAT returns and submission

s• Mentor and provide training to the Assistant Accountant

Requirement

s:• Experience in a management or financial accounting ro

le• Experience in working with multiple currencies within a multi-entity Gro

up• Insurance background preferred but not requir

ed• Experience of group consolidations and intercompany reconciliation

s.• Experienced in submission of VAT returns, and demonstrable understanding of current VAT regulation

s.• Experience of end-to-end ownership of account

g.• Strong analytical and problem-solving skill
