Group FP&A Director

Eton Bridge Partners is working in partnership with a well-established, FTSE listed insurance client to appoint a Director of Financial Planning. Reporting into the Group CFO, this is a fantastic opportunity to add value through the group's financial planning activities, providing meaningful insight and analysis to support the business' decision making.

Location: Cardiff (2 days a week onsite) / London

Responsibilities:

• Coordination of the Group financial planning and budgeting activities, including liaising with business unit finance teams, challenging submission and leading preparation and delivery of board presentations.
• To lead and prepare deep dive analysis into the Group’s businesses for presentation to the Group Board. This includes, but is not limited to, analysing financial performance, plans and return on capital.
• Providing insights and analysis, to support decision making on strategy execution, as well as relevance of the framework and process to deliver the right insight.
• To regularly review the performance of the Group’s businesses, identifying areas for further investigation and reporting items of interest to Senior Management
• To lead the group’s capital allocation process for Group executive management, including production of reporting, delivering presentations to the Board
• To provide regular ad hoc support to the Group CFO and Group Finance function
• To manage and develop the Group planning team.

Candidate Profile:

• Qualified accountant and degree educated
• Broad financial background including ownership of Group FP&A, reporting and processes
• Insurance background
• Good knowledge of IFRS17
• Previous experience of operating in a matrix structure
• Track record of improving the FP&A processes and of adding value to businesses
• Building strong relationships with key stakeholders
• Evidence of providing meaningful insight and analysis to the business
