This is a practical role, delivering hair insertion and wig making for the world class Madame Tussauds figures.

3 month FTC.

KEY OBJECTIVES

• To complete hair insertion to the agreed standard, time frame & budget
• Complete overlays as required in the department
• Ensure all work quality is agreed by the Senior Hair Artist before sign off with Senior Product Excellence or Principal Sculptor, following the appropriate critique process
• Complete all other hair tasks as required such a wig making & rough cuts
  
  

Main Responsibilities

Operations

• To ensure hair insertion is of the highest standard & that the correct reference is closely followed.
• To be aware of time frame allocated & work to this deadline.
• Proactively ask for sign offs at each critical stage with Senior Hair Artist and Senior Product Excellence or Principal Sculptor.
• Discuss hair style & insertion with Senior Hair Stylist & Senior Hair Artist
• Complete Crit notes promptly & ensure they are signed off before the next crit.
• Complete any wig work to Merlin’s agreed standard.
• Complete any wig work to Merlin’s agreed standard.
• Overlays & sign off process are strictly adhered to.
• Support trialists & consult with Hair Assistant Manager.
  
  

Financial

• To work to agreed times & be aware of these timings.
• To keep good housekeeping standards.
• Ensure wastage is kept to a minimum for hair & products.
  
  

Development

• To follow direction from Senior Hair Artists so that quality standards remain high.
• Speed increases with each head completed.
• Liaise with Senior Artists & Hair Assistant Manager on innovation & development ideas.
• Attend internal & external training courses recommended by Hair Assistant Manager.
  
  

People

• Demonstrate good team qualities.
• Demonstrate effective working relationships with Seniors & Figure Stylists.
• Maintain excellent housekeeping numbers.
• Actively report near misses & accidents.
• Work within the H&S guidelines for the Department.
• Ensure storage is correct for each product.
  
  

Qualifications & Experience

• Good knowledge and competent use of Microsoft Office programmes
• Good knowledge and competent use of Adobe Photoshop
• Background within hair insertion
• Wig making
• Broad knowledge of working with all kinds of hair types and styles
• Bachelor of Arts in a relevant subject
• Clear examples of being able to work under pressure to a tight deadlines
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• The ability to develop good working relationships at all levels
• Support and drive a culture to work safely
  
  

Desirable

• A background within film or television
• Wig making
• Experience working with wax
• The ability to cope with different situations simultaneously
