Location: CDE Manufacturing, 370 Doagh Road

Working collaboratively with the Leadership teams across all our global regions, you will have strategic and tactical responsibility for developing and implementing the assembly strategy and strategic operational goals to exceed customer expectations for product quality, cost and delivery, maximising efficiency, optimising production levels and driving operational excellence.

You will lead, direct and monitor all aspects of assembly in our Cookstown and Monkstown campuses which will include people and budgetary management. You will provide strong, clear leadership and vision that helps to inspire and motivate our employees to achieve operational excellence.

About The Role

Leading Operational Excellence

  • Lead the operations function for a large assembly team, implementing best practice production processes; driving strategy, policies, processes and procedures that shape and develop operational performance
  • Oversee the assembly of products, ensuring highest levels of production, labour performance, material utilisation and quality standards are consistently achieved.
  • Prepare and manage the annual Assembly budget and forecasts and feed into the overarching operations and supply chain strategy.
  • Oversee co-ordination of sub-contract operations, working closely with procurement to form strategic partnerships.
  • Drive shop floor performance and efficiency.
  • Analyse, monitor and report on Key Performance Indicators across all areas of the Assembly function to ensure that all projects are delivered on cost and on time to the highest quality standards.
  • Support project management and cross functional activity required for project execution.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance.

Coaching & Developing Our People

  • Promote and proactively lead performance management, attendance management and other employee relations activity within your area of responsibility as appropriate.
  • Drive the personal development of the Assembly team through coaching, mentoring, internal and external development opportunities and make recommendations to enable the achievement of the company’s strategic plans.

Championing Operational Excellence

  • Demonstrates commitment to Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality (HSEQ) practices and leads by example across these areas.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement within the Assembly function, focusing on takt time improvements, waste elimination and labour efficiency optimisation.
  • Create and refine systems to minimise error, improve quality and bolster productivity.

Desired Criteria

  • Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen experience
  • 2 years Design experience (SW & Practical)
  • Experience of significant ramp-up in production capability while maintaining quality, safety and customer satisfaction.

Required Criteria

  • Fully conversant with all relevant Health & Safety regulations
  • 3rd level (or above) qualification in a relevant discipline or demonstration of significant comparable experience
  • 5 years’ experience within an assembly/production environment
