What to expect:
The Head of Contracting – Technology is a senior member of the Commercial Management team responsible for the development and delivery of functional strategies, always modelling the Post Office behaviours and demonstrating a Postmaster first mindset.
The Head of Contracting - Technology will lead on delivering and implementing IT contract and supplier relationship management strategies to manage contracts and supplier relationships effectively. This role involves ensuring compliance with contractual terms, optimising supplier performance, fostering strong relationships with key suppliers and managing financial risks and opportunities to maximise value for money. They will drive a culture of inclusion, continuous improvement, and high performance in the teams they lead, delivering and driving decision-making across the Business, Customers and Partners.
Managing a team of four you will negotiate and manage contracts ensuring favourable terms, monitor supplier performance ensuring compliance and drive continuous improvement in the contract and supplier management process. You will have the opportunity to take ownership over policy and resources across essential functions within the team whilst leading and inspiring your team driving a high performance environment.

What you'll need to succeed:
To be successful in this role you will need to have demonstrable experience leading large teams within Contract and Supplier Management. In addition you will possess:
• Strong understanding of application of Procurement and Category Management and be familiar with relevant Procurement regulations
• Substantial experience establishing cross functional stakeholder relationships
• Strong commercial business acumen and ability to make data-driven business decisions.
• Demonstrable experience of delivering projects to achieve key objectives
• In-depth understanding of supply markets, commercial practices and best practice ways of working for nominated core categories.
• Ideally you will have experience in public and private sector contract/supplier management
