Due to significant growth, we are looking for a dynamic and experienced Head of Design Management to join our Public Sector team. This role will support the ongoing expansion of this sector and assist the Sector Director in managing the current Custodial work portfolio, as well as play a key role in negotiating future projects.
You will work collaboratively with the BakerHicks Project Management and Design Teams, the Director of Public Sector and wider BakerHicks group.
You will contribute to our success through building positive relationships with our clients, customers, stakeholders and internal BakerHicks Teams, to help deliver the budget targets for 2025 and beyond.
Key Objectives
- Support tenders for new work, reviewing contract documentation and closing out with the Client – managing BakerHicks Risk exposure at all times.
- Oversee the Project Managers in the successful running of current projects and workload
- Remain familiar with the unique requirements/standards and ways of working in the Public Sector, particularly the Custodial market (preferable but not essential).
- Be a dynamic and seek to drive standards and a high degree of professionalism for BakerHicks
- Forward and growth thinking / innovative and contribute to the development of the Public Sector
- Ensure a technically compliant & quality delivery, on time and budget
About You
- Significant experience in the construction industry with a Design Engineering consultancy or contractor
- Significant demonstrable experience in design specialising in a given discipline.
- Significant demonstrable management skills in an engineering/construction Design delivery environment
- Demonstrable organisational skills in a Design delivery environment
- Commercially astute and able to foresee and manage Risk / Change proactively
- Willing and able to obtain security clearance
