Head of Finance required for a PLC Retail business in London

£90,000 - £100,000 + bonus and benefits, dependant on experience

As the Head of Finance, you will play a crucial leadership role in overseeing the entire finance function during an exciting period of growth and international expansion. This position involves managing a diverse and dynamic finance team, ensuring the delivery of accurate and timely management accounts, statutory reporting, and audit compliance. You will be responsible for maintaining strong financial controls, leading complex technical accounting matters and drive continuous improvements in processes and systems. Working closely with the CEO, CFO, and key stakeholders, you will provide insightful financial analysis and support strategic initiatives including major CapEx projects and group consolidation. To be suitable for this role you must have the following:

• Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent)
• Proven track record of managing and developing finance teams
• In-depth knowledge of IFRS
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to establish and maintain robust financial controls, processes, and reporting rhythms in a dynamic, fast-growing business
• Confident and effective communicator capable of engaging and influencing senior leadership, shareholders, auditors, and external advisors
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and team leadership

Responsibilities shall include but not limited to:

• Take full ownership of the finance function’s daily operations, ensuring the delivery of accurate and timely management accounts, statutory reporting, and compliance
• Oversee and enhance financial controls, processes, and systems, driving improvements and supporting the implementation of new tools such as advanced AP systems and BI reporting platforms.
• Manage and develop a diverse finance team, providing hands-on leadership, coaching, and motivation to foster a collaborative and high-performing culture.
• Collaborate closely with the CEO, shareholders, and the head of commercial finance to deliver insightful financial analysis that supports strategic growth, refinancing, and dividend objectives.
• Own the finance roadmap, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and treasury functions, ensuring optimal cash positioning and intercompany funding
• Balance day-to-day financial management with strategic projects such as the integration of recent acquisitions, CapEx tracking for store conversions, and continuous process improvements
