Salary: £65,764pa-£76,152pa (plus potential market supplement)

We are looking to appoint a Head of Finance Strategy who will be responsible for leading and managing the development of the Council’s financial strategy, capital strategy, medium-term financial plan, and budget-setting process.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Develop and implement a strategic, workable response to the financial challenges the Council faces.
• Lead and manage the council's financial planning and budget monitoring including preparing reports for officers and Members on all financial planning and budget monitoring issues.
• Oversee the management and effectiveness of the outsourced Treasury operation and Pension Fund administration.
• Prepare detailed reports for senior officers and Members on all financial planning, budgeting, and treasury-related matters.
• Provide advice to Members and Senior Management
• Attendance at evening meetings will be required.

To be suitable for the role you need to hold a CCAB/CIMA accountancy qualification or equivalent. You will have extensive accounting and budgetary experience and a sound knowledge of local government finance frameworks including S.151, statutory requirements and relevant codes of practice and influences on the strategic finances of the authority.
