Head of Finance Systems

Job Purpose/Overview:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Head of Finance Systems to join our team to drive the future of finance systems alongside process improvement and daily systems support for finance. You will be joining NATS at an exciting time, as we modernise our systems and controls.

This role will act as a primary interface between Finance and Information Solutions (IS) for the development of finance systems. The successful candidate will improve and manage systems and processes to ensure effective processing of financial and non-financial data to meet business objectives and for continuous improvement.

Reporting to the Director, Group Financial Control, the post holder will work closely with others across finance to implement and update strategies for systems, data and process.

Duties Include:

• Strategy and stakeholder management: develop and manage the finance systems roadmap. Act as Business Change Manager for finance for both ERP modernisation and tactical projects, ensuring alignment with IS strategy. Specifically:

* Oversee tactical systems support and issue resolution.

* Plan resources to support ongoing modernisation (for Finance and Activity Management reporting and wider business change activities).

* Lead finance systems projects, managing upgrades, ensuring successful testing, training and implementation. Deliver objectives through rigorous planning, execution and communication.

• Governance and controls: continuously improve processes, data and system controls to streamline workflows and increase automation. Provide assurance over financial data and ensure alignment with NATS objectives, including controls, access rights, process change procedures or projects.

• People: manage and coach a team, set clear expectations and guide individuals to grow, and foster a positive work environment.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Educated to degree level or equivalent with significant management experience working at senior levels, most likely within Finance.

• Ideally a qualified accountant or technology specialist with a deep understanding of finance systems, controls and workflows.

• Experience of project managing and improving systems and processes within an integrated enterprise–wide system. Expert in SAP, with S4 HANA/Success Factors proficiency an advantage.

• Able to assess the commercial benefits and risks of developments in finance systems or processes.

• Strong people manager with excellent communication skills.

• Confident networker and collaborator. Able to deal with people at all levels and a range of stakeholders.
