Allen Lane are delighted to be supporting Rutland County Council in their search for a Head of IT on a permanent basis. This is a critical role responsible for driving innovation whilst ensuring the security and integrity of the Council’s information assets. You’ll spearhead the delivery of the Digital & IT strategy whilst continuing a high level of support across the IT Portfolio.
The role
As a Head of IT you will
- Provide Strategic leadership and operational oversight of Digital & IT
- Lead & mentor the IT team to ensure continued growth and achieve high performance
- Focus on continuously improving service delivery to internal departments and all public-facing platforms
- Take the lead on all aspects of digital transformation, using technology to enhance public services and improve efficiency
- Ensure all IT Infrastructure, Systems and applications are reliable, secure and scalable
- Implement robust cybersecurity measures and data protection strategies in line with GDPR and public sector standards
- Oversee large-scale technology projects ensuring they are delivered on time and within budgetary constraints.
Key Skills required
As a Head of IT you will have:
- Experience in managing an IT/Digital function that is ,customer-focused ideally within the public sector
- A track record of delivering IT projects whilst managing IT operations
- A deep understanding of digital transformation including data analytics, cloud technology and customer-centric design.
- Significant stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
- Strong knowledge of ITIL or equivalent management frameworks
- A strategic mindset with the ability to align IT & Digital services with the council’s long-term objectives
- Proven ability to inspire and manage teams, promoting a culture of excellence
