Base salary £67k up to £92k for Birmingham site – plus 20% flex fund on top of base!
Base salary £79k up to 100k for London site – plus 20% flex fund on top of base!

The purpose of this role is to design, implement, embed and lead an internal and supply chain communications and engagement strategy, aligned to strategic priorities, driving employee engagement and culture change, and promoting messaging around **** employee value proposition to attract and retain talent.
This is a key role working closely with the External Affairs Director, CEO, CEO Office and Senior Leaders in the business and across the supply chain on all elements of internal and supply chain communications and engagement including leadership and change communications.
Three direct reports - team of six in total.

The strategic objectives of the External Affairs directorate are:
- Build support for the reset by increasing awareness, understanding, and advocacy for key themes including credibility, leadership, productivity and safety.
- Build support for the prize of the reset - the benefits of **** now and in the future - by increasing awareness, understanding, and advocacy for productivity and safety, boosting growth and better journeys.
- Demonstrate efficiency and control in the vital communications and engagement services we deliver for the business, by meeting our budgets and all contractual and corporate benchmarks and targets.
Capability (related to role):
- An internal and supply chain communications leadership role in the External Affairs Directorate leading the Internal and Supply Chain Communications team on all elements of internal and supply chain communications and engagement including leadership and change communications.
- Accountabilities/Responsibilities
What does the role do?
- Develop and deliver **** internal and supply chain communications and engagement strategy, building an inclusive culture aligned to **** strategic priorities and in support of wider business objectives.
- Act as strategic internal and supply chain communications advisor to the External Affairs Director, the **** CEO and the Executive and Senior Leadership Teams internally and across the supply chain.
- Support change and transformation communication activity across the business and supply chain to enable targeted, timely and engaging communications, helping to ensure we create the right culture to help **** Ltd achieve its objectives.
- Build relationships across the organisation and supply chain to gain buy in, support and sign off for internal communications activities, engagement activity and campaigns from the relevant Executive / Senior Leadership sponsor.
- Own all internal and supply chain communications channels and provide reporting on effectiveness.
- Develop and implement a crisis communications plan as and when required.
- Ensure all internal and supply chain communications content is accessible, consistent and aligned to strategic business priorities and corporate KPIs.
- Build and manage relationships with **** supply chain to ensure consistency and alignment of all internal communications across the project.
- Lead Internal and Supply Chain Communications team of five permanent members with interim staff as required.
- Identify, procure and contract manage **** engagement, internal and supply chain communications partnerships.
- Promote **** Employee Value Proposition to drive positive staff engagement.
- Oversee all annual engagement activities, including **** engagement survey and values related activities.
- Actively promote and embed Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work, and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.

- The ability to conduct research, analyse data and apply insight in the development of an organisation’s narrative and corporate internal and supply chain messaging.

Knowledge:

- Working knowledge of leading the development, delivery and measurement of best practice internal and supply chain communications and its role in enhancing business performance.
- Working knowledge of new and emerging internal and supply chain communications tools, techniques and channels as well as evaluation techniques and practices.
- Working knowledge of internal and corporate crisis communications planning and activation scenarios.
- Knowledge of change management practices, tools and techniques.
- Knowledge of best practice employee engagement processes.
- Knowledge of public affairs, media relations, corporate communications, community engagement, social media and campaigns.

- Experience at senior leadership level of developing, leading and evaluating internal and supply chain communications and engagement across a complex organisation.
- Experience at senior leadership level of designing and delivering comprehensive, evidenced based internal and supply chain communication and engagement strategies aligned to business objectives.
- Experience at senior leadership level of providing strategic communications advice and support to executive directors and senior leaders in large, matrix organisations.
- Experience at senior leadership level of delivering high quality internal and supply chain communications and engagement to agreed deadlines.
- Experience at senior leadership level of managing internal and supply chain communications and engagement in crisis and / or major incident communications.
- Experience of designing, writing and producing content for a wide range of internal and supply chain communications channels.
