Affinity Water have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Land and Property Development to lead our internal Land and Property Development team.
Affinity Water, the UK's largest Water-only business in the UK are looking for a Head of Land & Property Development to stand up the development of our surplus property portfolio valued between £100-200m, across 15 strategic sites and a number of other smaller opportunities. This role will also interface with our renewables development team, looking for opportunities inside and outside our estate to enable our net zero ambitions.
You will have the experience to identify opportunities to maximise the value of underutilised land, whether through sales, development, or forging new strategic relationships with third parties that align with our business objectives.
Key Responsibilities for the Head of Land & Property:
- Strategic Site Planning: Develop comprehensive plans for each of our 15 strategic sites, outlining clear milestones and expected timelines to maximise their value through sale, development, or alternative uses.
- New Site Identification: Collaborate with internal teams to identify additional land parcels that can be released for development, aligning with our operational needs and growth plans.
- Disposal Process Management: Oversee the entire disposal process, from internal conception, working with external stakeholders (advisors and Councils), through to sale completion.
- Collaboration: Work with legal, asset management, biodiversity, and land management teams to ensure land strategies and outputs align with organisational goals and statutory compliance.
- Stakeholder Reporting: Establish and maintain a robust reporting framework to keep key stakeholders, including the Board and Investors, informed of progress on land development initiatives.
Key Skills and Experience for the Head of Land & Property :
- Proven experience in land and property development, with a track record of delivering complex development projects.
- Strong understanding of land valuation, planning processes, and property development.
- Excellent internal and external stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Experience in developing and implementing reporting frameworks for senior leadership.
- Knowledge of renewable energy initiatives and their integration into property portfolios is desirable.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: RICS qualification
- Previous experience in property development is essential.
- Ability to manage a diverse portfolio of activity.
- Strategic thinker with attention to detail and a focus on delivering value.
- Full UK Driving Licence.

- Salary c£100,000 per annum dependant on experience
- Hybrid role, with the expectations of a minimum two days a week in the office.
