Hyde is looking to recruit a Head of Head of Lettings and Surveying.

We are looking for an experienced Head of Lettings and Surveying to lead a high-performing team to deliver a customer-focused, efficient, and cost-effective voids and lettings service and also to provide guidance and support to Hyde’s surveying team.

This is a key leadership role that will drive operational excellence, improve home standards, and minimise revenue loss whilst ensuring positive outcomes for new and existing customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead a high-performing, customer-focused Empty Homes and Lettings service, ensuring positive outcomes for customers.
• Manage a team of specialist surveyors, providing guidance, risk management, and strategic support.
• Oversee resource deployment across internal teams and contractors to minimise void loss and enhance home standards.
• Work closely with stakeholders to ensure smart investment decisions before homes are relet, optimising maintenance and delivering value for money.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities and key partners, ensuring a responsive, well-regarded service.
• Support the Property Services Director in driving higher property standards and maximising revenue.

Skills and Experience

Housing and Lettings Expertise

• Extensive knowledge of void management, lettings processes, and tenancy agreements.
• Experience in improving turnaround times for empty properties and maximizing rental income.

Asset and Property Management

• Strong understanding of property maintenance, asset lifecycle planning, and compliance.
• Ability to oversee surveyors and ensure effective property inspections and condition assessments.

Leadership and Team Management

• Proven experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams, including surveyors and lettings officers.
• Skilled in performance management, staff development, and fostering a customer-focused culture.

Compliance and Regulatory Knowledge

• Expertise in housing legislation, health & safety, and property standards (e.g., Housing Act, Decent Homes Standard).
• Experience in ensuring properties meet legal and environmental standards, including energy efficiency regulations.

Financial and Strategic Planning

• Strong budget management skills, ensuring cost-effective void management and property investment.
• Ability to analyse housing demand, market trends, and asset performance to inform strategic decision-making.
