We are currently seeking a Head of Long-Term Analysis. This is a key role in Energy Aspects senior research team responsible for overseeing the company's research into energy markets going out to 2050. This is a dynamic and demanding role at the centre of EA's growing research agenda, requiring someone with deep energy market expertise, an affinity for data analysis, and an ability to lead other analysts to growth.

Key Responsibilities

The Head of Long-Term Analysis reports to the Head of Fundamentals and includes the following responsibilities at EA:

· Leading Energy Aspects long term energy market analysis, including forecasting of supply, demand and prices across the commodity complex ranging from oil to power.

· Oversee the development, operation, and maintenance of new and existing long-term cross-commodity energy demand and supply models at the country, regional and global level.

· Ensure that EA provides a unified, internally coherent vision of long-term energy markets.

· Overseeing the continuous improvement of data gathering, transformation, and analysis to ensure that EA's long term market view remains market-leading and in line with evolving customer demands.

· Managing a team of junior and senior analysts, nurturing growth and ensuring that team members achieve their professional goals amidst a positive work environment

· Leading the implementation of new technologies in long term market research, including unique modelling techniques as well as seeking alternative data sources to augment and improve current forecasts and market knowledge.

· Deliver products in a timely manner (Quarterly Outlook, regular research alerts and insights, price forecasts)

· Maintain research team's commercial focus to drive revenue growth.

· Ensuring EA's long term market views are well disseminated both internally and to clients, as well as helping maintain EA's presence in the global market as a leading market research company.


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

· Minimum ten years' experience in energy market analysis, ideally in long-term analysis across multiple sectors and fuels
· Deep understanding of global energy markets, with expertise across multiple fuels including oil, natural gas, and power
· Deep understanding of quantitative methods used in energy market analysis
· Expert ability to build, maintain, and operate complex cross commodity energy demand and supply models
· Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
· Proficiency in data analysis using tools such as Python
· Ability to coach and guide team members to produce better analysis.
· Willingness to 'take a view' based on the research conducted.
· Willingness to do research ("get your hands dirty") and create content for publication.
