Role Summary
This industry-leading global organization, that is SRA regulated, is seeking an experienced Global Head of Regulatory Compliance to join its dynamic legal team. Working across the globe in this pivotal role, you will work closely with the General Counsel and senior stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Monitoring global regulatory developments across the regions the Group operates in (EMEA, APAC & North America).
- Ensuring the organisation complies with and regulations within other jurisdictions in which the business operates such as France, Germany and Scandinavia.
- Creating and maintaining a compliance/regulatory governance framework.
- Analysing new regulatory requirements.
- Collaborating with colleagues in the AML Team to help procure compliance including maintaining policies and procedures and conducting risk assessments.
- Working with internal stakeholders to ensure that training is provided to staff to procure high standards of awareness and compliance.
- Creating, maintaining, and implementing compliance-related policies and procedures which are fit for purpose and recognise geographical nuances where appropriate.
- Supporting the implementation and monitoring of internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and facilitate internal and external audits.
- Preparing management presentations and communication on regulatory developments and potential challenges to management and affected business areas.
- Submitting regulatory reports associated with the Tax and Immigration business.
- Collaborating in reviewing and assessing compliance business risk assessments.
Experience Required
- A proven track record of Regulatory/Compliance at a senior level.
- Experience in leading and managing complex compliance projects and designing and implementing global compliance / regulatory policies and procedures.
- Experience interacting with and responding to international regulators and inquiries.
- Experience in providing advice and, where appropriate, assurance to senior managers and the board of directors.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective internal and external relationships.
- Operationally and business focused; able to understand the importance of efficient ways of working balanced with procuring an effective and practical compliance framework.
- Delivery focused and agile. A team player; able to be involved in practical delivery.
- Able to work at pace and in multiple time zones.
- Understands the nuances of working in multiple geographies and is able to adapt to procure effective compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
- Advanced communication skills (verbal and written) to report regulatory compliance information, strong analytical mindset and investigative skills with sound judgment.
- A qualified lawyer or law degree.
Preferred Experience
- Experience of working in an SRA regulated Global law firm or other regulated global organisation.
- An understanding of SRA regulations and some familiarity with similar regulations in other jurisdictions in which the business operates.
- An understanding of international tax and immigration regulations and their application across global markets.
- An understanding of the global mobility business sector.
