The Opportunity


IES is embarking on international expansion efforts globally to further their mission to reach net-zero carbon emission targets.


The Head of software sales will be reporting to the Global Chief Commercial Officer and will play a critical commercial role within the EMEA division.


You will lead a team of Divisional Business Development Managers and will coach, develop, and mentor a high-performing sales team with the aim of driving software sales and exceeding revenue targets within the EMEA region. By working closely with your team, you will foster a culture of accountability by establishing appropriate metrics to enhance sales performance as well as regularly measuring and analysing productivity and effectiveness.


You will develop relationships with key accounts and potential new customers to build pipelines, engage in contract negotiations and facilitate deal closures whilst working across the business to ensure co-ordinated sales and marketing strategies to promote IES’ value proposition.


Focusing on adoption and utilisation of IES software through customer satisfaction and retention by ensuring a smooth customer journey is paramount to the role. You will meaningfully advance IES’ efforts to sell technology that can significantly reduce the impact that buildings and cities have on the environment by minimising energy use and making zero carbon targets achievable.

Key qualifications and experience include-


Essential:

  • A strong track record of sales growth in the field of software solutions
  • Outstanding influencing and relationship-building skills, both internally and with customers
  • Understanding and analysing sales performance metrics and suggesting improvements
  • Experience in managing and developing high-performing sales functions and team capability
  • The commercial acumen to identify gaps in the market and develop strategies to fully utilise the capability of your team and capitalise on them.
  • Professional presentation skills
  • A proactive attitude and ability to work independently
  • Ability to develop leads and win sustainable business


Desirable:

  • Knowledge of the IESVE software
  • Construction industry experience as well as awareness of digital technologies within the sector
  • Knowledge of building simulation and sustainable building design
  • Membership in or working towards relevant accreditations (e.g., CIBSE, ASHRAE, etc.).
  • Familiarity with voluntary environmental rating schemes such as LEED, BREEAM, NABERS, etc.
  • Familiarity with Construction Codes (UK part L, ASHRAE, etc.)
