Role Purpose
The health and safety manager supports the safety and well-being of employees and statutory compliance through risk management and implementation of best practice for policies, procedures and regulations. Subject matter expert in health and safety.
Duties/ Responsibilities
- Develop systems and programmes embedding safety within operational processes.
- Implement behaviour and condition-based auditing
- Profile business risks and implement processes to manage them
- Enhance recruitment and training materials.
- Development leadership awareness for safety and management responsibilities
- Manage and audit service providers supporting remote locations
- Reporting to business leaders in internal and statutory compliance
- Critical incident advisor
Knowledge/ Experience
- 5+ years of progressive safety leadership
- IOSH qualification (Essential)
- Multi-site experience
- Experienced in leading safety within a logistics, warehousing or D2C environments
- Current in statutory requirements and best practice covering environmental factors, manual handling, MHE, loading /unloading, contractor management, DSE and incident investigation within a modern D2C / Warehouse environment
- Experience in retail and office settings.
- Accurate data collection, analysis and reporting.
