About This Opportunity
Are you passionate about making a real difference in people’s lives? We’re looking for a
Health and Wellbeing Coach to support individuals aged 16+ across North Cumberland. Many of the people you’ll work with may be facing complex challenges or recovering from a crisis. Your role will be to guide and empower them to take positive steps toward a healthier, more fulfilling life.
What You’ll Do
As a Health and Wellbeing Coach, you’ll:
- Use a coaching approach to build trust and support individuals in identifying and achieving their personal goals.
- Help people understand and overcome barriers to change, promoting independence and resilience.
- Support individuals in addressing lifestyle, relationships, and home life factors that impact their wellbeing.
- Work to reduce health inequalities by promoting awareness and sustainable change.
- Connect people with local networks and encourage the creation of peer-led community groups.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking someone who:
- Has a Level 6 Advanced Diploma in Health Coaching (or equivalent), and significant experience working with vulnerable individuals with complex needs.
- Is empathetic, non-judgmental, and skilled in building authentic relationships.
- Can challenge behaviours constructively and promote personal responsibility.
- Is passionate about community engagement and social connection.
Don’t have the qualification yet?
You can still apply! Join us as a
Health & Wellbeing Officer (Grade 8, £27,852 - £28,371) and complete the diploma as part of your role. After a minimum 12 months and successful completion of the qualification and portfolio, you may be eligible to progress to the Coach role.

This role requires a DBS check. The level of check for this role is - Enhanced DBS Check with an Adult’s and Children’s Barred List check.
