Ysgol Gymraeg Iolo Morganwg wish to appoint a motivated, enthusiastic, and creative
Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join the teaching team at Ysgol Gymraeg Iolo Morganwg. The position will be located across the school, with responsibility for the learning and teaching of pupils, in accordance with the school's PPA timetable. It is a permanent post, to start in
September 2025.
Ysgol Gymraeg Iolo Morganwg is a happy, homely school with around 200 pupils attending, from Cowbridge and the rural Vale. There is currently one class per year group, with exciting plans on the horizon to move to a new site that will enable us to grow and become a two-form entry school from Spring 2027. Our pupils are enthusiastic in learning and play and show a friendly and caring nature towards each other. Our aim and motto is “May each and every one enjoy success in achieving” in any aspect of school life which inspires them, and we believe that committed and enthusiastic school staff are the key to tis success.

About The Role
Pay Details: Grade 6, SCP 14 - 19, £28,624 - £31,067 (Pro Rata), £14.84 - £16.10ph
Hours of Work / Weeks per year / Working Pattern: 32.5 Hours, 39 weeks, Full-Time

Description:
- To work under the direction of teachers and members of the SLT and within the school's supervision system.
- To ensure the day-to-day arrangement for pupils in the classroom and outside the classroom.
- To plan and present learning activities to pupils, with the support of the Curriculum Leader within the agreed supervision system.
- Support pupils across the school and provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement.
About You
You will need:
- Several years' experience working in a relevant discipline in a learning environment.
- NVQ Level 4 or an equivalent qualification of experience in a relevant discipline.
- Excellent numeracy / literacy skills.
- High standard of Welsh language skills
- Effective use of ICT to support learning.
- Full practical knowledge of policies / codes of practice / relevant legislation.
- Practical knowledge of the national curriculum and statutory frameworks, in accordance with the details of the job.
- The ability to organise, lead and motivate a support team where necessary.
- The ability to self-evaluate learning needs and actively seek out learning opportunities.
- The ability to relate well to children and adults.

- DBS Check Required: Enhanced & Barred Children
