Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Allergy and Clinical Immunology team.
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who is keen to make a difference and impact patient care.
The successful candidate will be required to provide efficient and high quality administrative and clerical support to the Allergy and Clinical Immunology Nursing Team, ensuring processes and systems are monitored and evaluated to meet both Trust and National Targets.
Main duties of the job
- Oversee Careflow Immunoglobulin therapy referral page.
- Oversee Immunoglobulin therapy referral email.
- Organise patient medication switches, working closely with nursing colleagues leading on this project, attending fortnightly meetings relating to this project.
- Involvement in projects relating to home therapy care for Immunoglobulin patients.
- Attend monthly local IVIG panel meetings.
- Support checks of dictated letters prior to clinician approval.
- Organise notes for patients attending the Medical Day Unit.
- Supporting the nursing team in the Medical Day Unit with pharmacy trays and pharmacy runs.
- Managing Medical Day Unit chair planner.
- Organisation of Medical Day Unit repeat prescriptions.
- Organisation of amendment and re-write to Medical Day Unit prescriptions.
- Booking, cancelling and rescheduling patients appointments for home therapy.
- Proactively booking 2 yearly reviews of home therapy patients.
- Processing homecare repeat requests.
- Supporting the nursing team in organising postal bloods.
- Overseeing MDSAS database.

As well as the main duties of the job, there will be an expectation to cross-cover others within the service. This will namely be covering inboxes, supporting with patient queries and phone calls, booking appointments and supporting the nursing and clinical team in the smooth and efficient running of services.

- Basic keyboard skills
- Database experience – Competent in Excel, Word and Outlook
- Good standard of English
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Work Experience

- Previous communication and telephone skills
- Experience of working as part of a team in a multi-disciplinary environment
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working in the NHS or similar organisation

- Excellent organisational skills
- Ability to work within established guidelines, demonstrating ability to work independently showing initiative but also understanding when to seek appropriate guidance.
