You see, when we launched the first Hotel Gotham in Manchester, it was billed as ‘Europe’s sexiest hotel’. Now it’s Newcastle’s time to enjoy the Gotham effect. Gotham Newcastle is located in the Old Fire Station which was originally built in 1931–1933 based on designs by Cackett, Burns Dick and Mackellar. Baroque Revival in style, a handsome steel framed building with rusticated Portland stone and brick cladding.

The restaurant is a stylish destination in its own right, Gotham’s Newcastle restaurant mixes turn of the century elegance with a moody undertone. Invoking the building’s history, a palette of period inspired, quirky details ensure a welcoming space where guests can expect plush surroundings, accompanied by an enticing, contemporary menu, with ingredients sourced from the finest local producers.

A Glimpse of the Scenes You’ll Be Starring In:

  • Lead the Morning Service: Oversee the smooth operation of the hotel’s breakfast service, ensuring each guest’s first meal of the day is an extraordinary experience filled with flavor, elegance, and efficiency.
  • Create a Star-Quality Ambience: Ensure the breakfast venue is set with the glamour and charm of a golden-era Hollywood film, with pristine settings, seamless service flow, and a welcoming atmosphere for guests of all backgrounds.
  • Manage the Breakfast Team: Supervise and inspire a team of waitstaff and kitchen personnel, ensuring they maintain the highest standards of service and professionalism throughout the morning shift. You’ll train and mentor your team to provide service that’s worthy of the red carpet.
  • Guest Experience Excellence: Greet and engage with guests as they arrive for breakfast, ensuring their experience is flawless from start to finish. Cater to special dietary needs, ensure efficient seating arrangements, and create a personalized dining experience that makes them feel like royalty.
  • Collaborate with the Culinary Team: Work closely with the Executive Chef and kitchen staff to ensure the menu offerings are of the highest quality, prepared with precision, and presented to perfection. Oversee the timely execution of breakfast orders, ensuring every dish is served hot and fresh.
  • Smooth Operations: Oversee the daily breakfast operations, ensuring that the buffet, à la carte options, and room service are organized, well-stocked, and executed seamlessly. Maintain impeccable standards of cleanliness and organization within the breakfast service area.
  • Guest-Centric Focus: Anticipate the needs of each guest, from their preferred seating to special requests. Handle all guest inquiries with poise, professionalism, and a touch of glamour, ensuring their breakfast experience is nothing short of extraordinary.
  • Handle Complaints with Grace: Address any guest concerns or complaints swiftly and discreetly, ensuring a resolution that maintains the hotel’s reputation for impeccable service and guest satisfaction.
  • Inventory and Stock Management: Assist in managing inventory levels for breakfast items, ensuring that all ingredients are fresh, replenished on time, and ready for service. Collaborate with the kitchen and suppliers to maintain consistent quality.
  • Maintain Health & Safety Standards: Ensure all health, safety, and cleanliness standards are upheld in the breakfast area, keeping the environment spotless and compliant with the highest five-star hotel standards.
  • Create a Smooth Transition to the Day: Prepare the team for the transition to the main restaurant operations after breakfast service, ensuring a seamless handover that maintains the momentum of excellence into the day.
