You see, when we launched the first Hotel Gotham in Manchester, it was billed as ‘Europe’s sexiest hotel’. Now it’s Newcastle’s time to enjoy the Gotham effect. Gotham Newcastle is located in the Old Fire Station which was originally built in 1931–1933 based on designs by Cackett, Burns Dick and Mackellar. Baroque Revival in style, a handsome steel framed building with rusticated Portland stone and brick cladding.

The restaurant is a stylish destination in its own right, Gotham’s Newcastle restaurant mixes turn of the century elegance with a moody undertone. Invoking the building’s history, a palette of period inspired, quirky details ensure a welcoming space where guests can expect plush surroundings, accompanied by an enticing, contemporary menu, with ingredients sourced from the finest local producers.

We are seeking an exceptional Restaurant Manager to lead the operations of our prestigious fine dining restaurant, private dining venues, and the breakfast service for all hotel guests. As the manager of this luxurious culinary experience, you will play a key role in ensuring that every guest’s dining experience exceeds expectations, whether they are enjoying an intimate dinner, a special event, or the start of their day with breakfast. With a passion for impeccable service, an eye for detail, and a flair for leadership, you will maintain the highest standards of excellence in every facet of the restaurant’s operation.

• Lead the Front of House: Oversee the smooth operation of the fine dining restaurant, ensuring impeccable service for each guest and curating an unforgettable atmosphere of sophistication and refinement.
• Private Dining Perfection: Manage the operation of private dining venues, ensuring that bespoke events and intimate gatherings are executed with flawless precision and tailored to the guest’s unique needs.
• Breakfast for the Elite: Supervise the breakfast service for hotel guests, ensuring that each morning meal is an exceptional experience from start to finish, setting the tone for the day ahead.
• Team Maestro: Lead, train, and inspire a team of service professionals, creating a culture of excellence and continuous improvement, while maintaining a collaborative, positive environment that reflects the brand’s luxury ethos.
• Guest-Centric Focus: Foster relationships with guests, ensuring their needs are anticipated and their experiences are elevated. Address guest concerns or feedback with grace, professionalism, and swift action.
• Operational Excellence: Oversee daily restaurant operations, including reservations, table settings, staff schedules, and overall service flow to ensure smooth, timely service at all times.
• Collaboration with the Culinary Team: Work closely with the Executive Chef and kitchen team to ensure that the menu and service are flawlessly executed, and that the dining experience aligns with the hotel’s prestigious reputation.
• Financial Stewardship: Manage the restaurant’s budget, including inventory, cost control, and maximizing profitability while maintaining the high standards of quality and luxury service expected in a five-star establishment.
• Event Coordination: Oversee the planning and execution of special events, private dinners, and large-scale bookings, ensuring every detail is handled to perfection, from décor to menu.
• Maintain Standards of Excellence: Ensure that all health, safety, and cleanliness standards are upheld, aligning with five-star hotel requirements and ensuring that guests experience only the finest in dining luxury.
