As our
HR Generalist you will provide generalist HR advice and support encompassing employee relations, recruitment, training and employee engagement. Drive forward all employee relations activity to include learning & development. Supporting the Director of HR and HR Manager with the delivery of the HR strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Be a point of contact for all employees and line managers for all HR matters, providing professional, credible and timely advice.
- Provide support and advice with disciplinary, grievance, dismissal and capability procedures, ensuring these are followed in line with current legislation.
- Proactively support and coordinate learning & development activity across the business, including associated administration, review annual objectives. Liaise with learning and development suppliers, to obtain quotations and course specifications in line with Company requirements.
- Deliver and facilitate training within the business as well as amongst the membership where required. Oversee the arrangements for any work experience and university student placements. Maintain good relationships with training providers; sourcing new opportunities, negotiating price and making recommendations.
- Support with the execution of the annual employee engagement plan, as well as other HR initiatives across the business.
- Support and coordinate recruitment activity across the business, including associated administration, contracting. Support with interviewing and assessing of candidates as required. Review and update job descriptions with Heads of department as appropriate.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of employment law and generalist HR best practice and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing development of self.
What we’re looking for in our HR Generalist:
- CIPD qualified or equivalent experience in a similar role
- Up to date knowledge in employment law.
- Passion for driving high levels of employee engagement.
- Enthusiastic, self-confident, proactive and diligent & self-motivated.
- Excellent honest and open communication skills both externally and at all levels in the company.
- Effective interpersonal skills ensuring queries are dealt with efficiently and with tact.
- Emotionally intelligent individual who understands and accepts the feelings of others.
- Meticulous attention to detail with a high standard of spelling, grammar and proof-reading skills.
- Good IT skills with particular emphasis on MS Office packages.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills. Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively.
