We are currently recruiting an Import/ Export Coordinator at our HQ in Hebburn, who will ensure the smooth flow of goods across international borders by managing customs processes, maintaining compliance with regulations and coordinating with various stakeholders!

Responsibilities:
- Managing all aspect of the customs process, including UK imports and exports.
- Producing customs documentation, such as import clearances for all EU and non-EU shipments.
- Ensure all customs documentation is correctly filed and store in line with legal requirements.
- Process import documentation according to customs regulations and company policies.
- Direct input to CDS (Customs Declaration Service) and TSS (Trader Support Service) systems.
- Ensuring documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant.
- Maintain proof of export documentation to meet statutory requirements.
- Working with management to stay updated on changes in laws, regulations, and customs procedures to ensure the company is compliant.
- Complete classification of Commodities against HMRC Tariff.
- Ensuring adherence to the Inward Processing Relief Scheme.
- Maintaining the relevant in-house systems.
- Track and trace necessary documentation to have all customs related processes in order. Work with the existing European partners to handle clearances on the other side of the water (where necessary).
- Provide timely query Resolution to queries from internal departments and external stakeholders.
- Working with the operations team to ensure a smooth process of the customs procedure.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Essential
- GCSE Maths and English (Grade C and above).
- 3 years of Import/Export customs experience in a similar role.
- Previous experience with processing & completing entries using CDS (Experience must include either of the following - Deep Sea Ocean freight clearances or European road freight clearances) as well as TSS systems.
- Understanding of HMRC (Customs) including Tariff Coding, relief regimes such as Inward and Outward Processing regimes.
- Excellent IT skills, being proficient with applications such as MS Office, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Strong communications skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to show professional scepticism.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Desirable
- Ability to provide assistance and support to colleagues, demonstrating a hands-on approach and a can-do attitude.
