Join the team at George Baker as an experienced Freight Forwarder and take the lead in managing our customers’ air and sea freight - from arrival through to final delivery. You'll play a key role in ensuring smooth, efficient logistics and outstanding service every step of the way.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage import air and sea freight from arrival to delivery
- Use internal systems to create and track shipments
- Handle FCL and LCL shipments
- Check and forward documentation to shipping lines
- Build strong customer relationships to grow business
- Complete accurate customs declarations
- Coordinate with clients, depots, warehouses, and hauliers
- Provide regular shipment updates to customers
- Invoice according to quotes and fee structures
- Resolve queries and issues efficiently
Skills and Experience Required:
- Minimum 3 years previous experience in a similar role essential
- Good knowledge of customs processes and documentation
- Ability to communicate effectively with shipping lines and hauliers
- Highly organised with ability to prioritise own workload
- Self motivated, reliable, trustworthy and hard working
- Proactive approach, problem solving skills
- Impeccable attention to detail and conscientiousness vital
