What To Expect
The Inbound Freight department covers all Inbound Freight activities ranging from Optimisation, Planning, and Operations.
With this role sitting in the Operations team, its purpose is to ensure operational delivery of the Inbound Freight solution from all collected suppliers into the Plants. The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping the department deliver a robust and cost-effective Inbound Freight solution whilst helping to develop process improvements and operational enhancements to deliver budgetary and operational objectives.
- Operational delivery of the Inbound Freight solution to our customers
- Proactive approach to ensuring a high quality freight operation (internally and externally)
- Ensure all lead logistics providers deliver the agreed contractual technical specifications and meet scorecard KPI targets
- Driver tactical improvements to the network and Inbound Freight solution
- Deliver step change projects that transform the Inbound Freight solution and current offering today
- Interface with Linefeed providers
- Effective relationships with the JLR Supplier base, driving supplier adherence to JLR standards
What You'll Need
Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills you'll need to have to help you succeed here, including:
- Past freight/logistics experience is desirable
- Understanding of Supply Chain Operations working processes / practises
- Can work to tight deadlines and under pressure
- Ability to communicate and influence to a Senior level
- Strong communication skills - both written and verbal
- Presentatation skills
- Appreciation for the business operations and protocol
