We are seeking an ambitious and forward-thinking leader to lead our Inclusive Economy and Climate team. This is a unique opportunity to develop and lead strategies, projects, and initiatives that that will shape the future of the sustainable and inclusive economic development in one of the UK's most dynamic cities.
In this role, you will be at the forefront of climate action and economic transformation, ensuring that Cambridge's success benefits the whole community. You will influence national and regional policy, collaborate with partners to drive system change, and ensure resilience against the effects of climate change.
Your Impact:
- Lead and develop the Council's Climate Change Strategy, aligning it with national policies and best practices.
- Influence stakeholders and advocate for net-zero initiatives across the city.
- Work with businesses and partners to mainstream sustainability and biodiversity throughout council projects.
- Secure funding and resources to support key environmental initiatives.
- Provide strategic advice on transport strategies to create a greener more accessible Cambridge.
What We're Looking For:
- Substantial experience in the economic development and climate sectors.
- Expertise in policy change and strategy development.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing teams, businesses, and regional stakeholders.

Hours: This is a full-time role, for 37 hours per week

Contract: Permanent
Salary: £55,021 - £61, 123 per annum (City Pay Band 9), pro rata for part time.
Location: This can be flexible - working in Cambridge on site or at one of our offices or working from home. You will be able to balance your work location accordingly depending on the priorities of your role and team.
