Our charitable objects
Our vision
IOSH’s vision is simple: a safe and healthy world of work.
Millions of people’s lives are severely affected by the work they do, with illness, injury and death all too common. However, work, when it’s good, gives people status, positive health benefits, a good quality of life and a sense of wellbeing. This is why our mission is to be the professional body leading the way in global occupational safety and health. Because of our expertise, reach and reputation, IOSH is uniquely placed to influence the way organisations look after their people at work.
Our strategy
Launched in 2023, our five-year strategy, Activate 2028 – is all about action – and the entire occupational safety and health (OSH) community coming together to deliver a safe and healthy world of work.
It’s bold. It’s ambitious. It’s about building on what we’ve achieved so far and progressing our profession. It champions and supports you, our extraordinary members, and OSH professionals everywhere.
Our mission is three-fold:
Activate 2028 focuses on the actions and outcomes needed to help us achieve our vision and mission.
Our goals
We’ve created four main goals for Activate 2028 to underpin our charitable objects, deliver our public benefits and help us reach our vision. They are:
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
Our charitable work
Each year IOSH’s trading subsidiary, IOSH Services Ltd (ISL Ltd), makes a charitable monetary donation to support our charity status and activities.
We offer free resources to help managers, workers, students, researchers and decision-makers in health and safety. In doing so, we aim to promote ways to improve occupational health and safety, help IOSH members and the public exchange information and ideas and maintain and enhance the professional status of IOSH members and other people involved in improving health and safety at work.
