Industrial Placement Programme
Leonardo’s Industrial Placement Programme offers you a paid placement (£25,000) to develop your knowledge and skills in our innovative and practical environment. In addition to working with our highly skilled engineers and business professionals, successful completion of an Industrial Placement can often lead to an offer for a permanent graduate position and securing your place on our industry leading Graduate Development Programme.
Our Industrial Placement Programme is designed to offer you the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills you require to become an engineering or business professional of the future. On our programme you will engage with challenging and exciting project work, and deliver innovative business or technical solutions as part of a team of subject matter experts. Throughout the programme you will receive coaching and support from your team to achieve your objectives as well as your personal development goals. You will gain a wide array of experience on your placement that you can apply to your academic studies and future career.
We are looking for highly motivated individuals who are willing to take on a challenge to fill our industrial placement roles, and we will demand a high degree of customer focus and work performance from you in order to meet our operational challenges. You will be working in our Integrated Sensing and Protection line of business, based in Southampton. The line of business designs, integrates and supplies Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) & Force Protection electronic products and systems. We work at all stages of the lifecycle from research and development, through to production and support. We work closely with partners, suppliers and customers to deliver the best outcomes.
On a Project Management Industrial Placement you will get a chance to put your learning and knowledge into practice. During the placement you will experience a range of projects, from technical design to multi-million pound production, with the ability to experience a variety of projects through their lifecycle - bid and capture, project initiation, delivery, repairs and customer support. You will be immersed within a multi-functional Integrated Project Team (IPT) to gain an understanding of the day-to-day life of a project manager; by the end of the placement you will be equipped with practical experience to support your ongoing development.
Qualifications
We will consider any degree subject and have a preference for Engineering, other STEM subjects, Business or Project Management.
We like our Project Management placement students to be
- Good communicators – both written and verbal
- Able to use all Microsoft Office applications
- Analytical problem solvers with the ability to think laterally
- Pro-active and results driven with a "can do" attitude
