Information Lawyer

We are working with a large regulator seeking an experienced Information Lawyer to join their legal team on a temporary basis until April 2026.

You will play a key role in providing legal advice and support on:

• Freedom of Information (FOI) requests
• Subject Access Requests (SARs)
• A variety of complex matters involving the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO)

Key Responsibilities

• Advise internal teams on compliance with information law and data protection legislation
• Draft and review responses to FOI and SAR requests
• Liaise with the ICO and manage case correspondence
• Support wider legal and governance functions as needed

Requirements

• Strong experience advising on FOI, SARs, and information rights
• Public sector or regulatory experience preferred
• Ability to manage a varied caseload and work independently

Desirable

Qualified solicitor, barrister or legal executive (or equivalent)
