Role Mission
Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager and as a member of the fast-paced Infrastructure team, broad responsibilities include the implementation, support and operation of all production and non-production environments. This includes Public (Azure/GCP/AWS) and Private cloud infrastructure and supporting technologies and participation in team shift patterns to cover 7am to 7pm and an out of hours on-call rota.
Bringing at least 5 years of relevant experience to this role, you can expect to be involved with migrating and maintaining cloud-based solutions in an environment that has a strong focus on reliability, security and data integrity.
Responsibilities
- Work within the Infrastructure Operations global team to deliver a global follow-the-sun 2/3rd tier support service.
- Day to day operations and maintenance of both public and private cloud environments (VMWare, Azure, GCP).
- Delivery of robust, scalable, secure, efficient and HA infrastructure services to meet business requirements.
- Support and maintenance of Infrastructure within internally hosted platforms and other cloud hosted services, supporting CUBE services (VMWare, Linux, Windows, SQL, AD, SAN's, Backups etc).
- Diagnose complex system problems using dumps, traces, or other diagnostics aids.
- Ensuring Logging, monitoring and alerting is complaint with policy and meets service ownerâs need.
- Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of infrastructure security
- Raising, designing, and implementing recommendations for improvements to internal/public cloud environments.
- Participate in development, testing, and implementation of business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
- Maintaining and refining solution designs and documentation.
- Lead the delivery of technical projects, documentation and best practices to support the ongoing growth of the platform and business.
What Weâre Looking For
- Minimum of 5 yearsâ experience working with enterprise infrastructure/data centre/cloud technology, including demonstrable project delivery experience.
- Experience working within a team of technical resources completing operations, maintenance and project delivery under change control.
- Experience of general infrastructure in medium/large scale enterprise environments delivering developed and hosted apps to global customers.
- Demonstrable knowledge of VMWARE and public cloud (Azure/GCP).
- Proven knowledge of Linux and Windows server operating systems, patching and malware solutions.
- Knowledge of scripting and automation technologies and platforms.
- Knowledge of Storage area network and Backup technologies (Veeam).
- Deliver on documented OLAâs for the Services provided.
- Management and maintenance of Active Directory and O365 Security.
- Strong Virtual Networking, VMware, Virtual Machine Administration, vCenter Administration.
- Good understanding of Physical Network Topologies, Routing, vLANâs, Firewalling
- Full UK driving license and car with the ability to attend data centers in Newport, Wales and Farnborough, Surrey within 2 hours.
Desirable
- Experience supporting and managing Elastic Search.
- Experience working and delivering in a software development based organization.
- Working knowledge of O365 Security Administration â Azure AD, Intune, Purview, Defender etc.
- Experience working with JIRA and Confluence.
