Our growing Infrastructure, Projects and Energy (IPE) team is looking for an experienced Lawyer (4+PQE) to join our team in Manchester to advise public and private sector clients on a variety of energy and utilities, social infrastructure and transport projects. In this role, you will work on commercial contracts relating to infrastructure and public services and advise on the full spectrum of issues relating to energy and utilities, social infrastructure and transport sector mandates, acting for a broad range of public sector bodies, utilities, companies, developers and financial institutions.
What to expect in this role:
- With support from the team, you will have responsibility for drafting and negotiating commercial documents, managing transaction processes, and supervising the contribution of less experienced colleagues.
- Strongly encouraged to take responsibility for business development both by engaging directly with client contacts at networking events and by providing training.
- Taking an active role in leading and developing junior talent within the team.
What we're looking for:
- You will have at least 4 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) with strong expertise in at least one of the Infrastructure, Energy, and Transport sectors, nationally or internationally, with a broad commercial contracts background.
- Capability to actively support complex transactions, including effective coordination and liaison with colleagues across various disciplines within the firm, alongside excellent drafting skills for complex concepts.
- A proactive approach towards contributing to the group's maintenance, including training, precedent development, and general know-how, coupled with a client-facing attitude and a drive for intellectually challenging work.
- An inclination towards business development, with a focus on encouraging and aiding junior team members in enhancing their business development skills, and the ability to manage and develop both the technical and soft skills of junior colleagues.
- Commercial acumen to understand and advise on clients' commercial drivers, enthusiasm for the infrastructure sectors, and resilience to meet clients' needs on short notice or tight deadlines.
