Infrastructure Support Manager
Salary: up to £90,000 per annum
Location: London (2 days onsite per week)
Newly created role within a leading financial services firm. You'll require a strong service-oriented mindset but need to remain technical, and hands on, as you'll be leading a highly technical small 2nd line support function. You will oversee IT operations, ensuring the smooth running of server infrastructure, Microsoft technologies, Azure Cloud, and networking.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop the 2nd Line Support Team to deliver exceptional service
- Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues, bridging the gap between the Service Desk and Engineering teams
- Drive service improvements and implement efficient workflows to meet performance targets
- Conduct quarterly performance reviews and manage team development
- Collaborate with stakeholders to support the IT Infrastructure roadmap and identify opportunities for growth
- Foster a service-driven culture, ensuring effective change management processes
Skills and experience required
- A hands-on leader with a track record of managing 2nd/3rd Line Support Teams in a fast-paced environment
- Expertise in Wintel virtualisation, VMware, Azure Cloud operations, and network security infrastructure (Checkpoint, Cisco Meraki SD-WAN)
- Strong working knowledge of Windows Server, desktop operating systems, and scripting (PowerShell)
- Experience with ITSM ticketing systems and ensuring SLA compliance
- Relevant certifications such as VMware, Citrix, Microsoft, ITIL Foundation, or Cisco/Checkpoint Meraki are highly desirable
