Are you an experienced insolvency professional with a proven track record of managing cases? If you thrive on delivering exceptional results, ensuring compliance, and overseeing budgets, this is your opportunity to take charge as an Insolvency Manager in a dynamic and growing team.

Job Purpose:

As an Insolvency Manager, you will take full responsibility for a portfolio of insolvency cases, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and profitability. You’ll provide strategic guidance on case progression, manage budgets, and mentor your team to deliver excellent outcomes for clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Portfolio Management:

  • Proactively manage a portfolio of insolvency cases, including liquidations, administrations, and CVAs, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Take responsibility for case strategy, driving cases forward to achieve timely and efficient resolutions.
  • Conduct case reviews to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and best practices.
  • Oversee complex investigations into financial affairs, director conduct, and asset realisation, providing technical input where required.

Financial Oversight:

  • Manage case budgets, ensuring financial controls are in place and adhered to.
  • Monitor and forecast case profitability, ensuring billing is completed accurately and on time.
  • Liaise with Partners and senior management regarding fee recovery and provide regular updates on financial performance.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure all statutory filings, reports, and correspondence are completed to the highest standard and within deadlines.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in insolvency legislation and implement any required updates to processes and procedures.
  • Act as the key compliance contact for cases within your portfolio, ensuring adherence to best practices and internal controls.

Leadership and Team Development:

  • Provide guidance, mentoring, and support to team members, helping them to develop their technical skills and knowledge.
  • Review and approve junior team members’ work, offering constructive feedback to ensure high standards.
  • Foster a positive team culture that promotes collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Client and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, creditors, and other key stakeholders, building and maintaining strong professional relationships.
  • Attend creditor meetings, court hearings, and other events, representing the firm professionally and effectively.
  • Support business development activities, identifying opportunities to enhance client service and grow the firm’s reputation in the market.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Significant experience in insolvency, with a strong track record of managing corporate cases independently.
  • Deep understanding of insolvency legislation, compliance requirements, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in IPS (or equivalent insolvency software) and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, billing, and monitoring case profitability.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to liaise with senior stakeholders and external parties.
  • A proactive, results-driven mindset with a focus on achieving high-quality outcomes.

Desirable:

  • JIEB qualification or working towards it.
  • Experience in mentoring or managing junior team members.
  • Familiarity with personal insolvency cases, such as IVAs or bankruptcies.
