We're looking for a proactive and target-driven Internal Business Development Manager to contribute to the success of our sales team.
Collaborating with the Vendor team and both internal and external Sales functions, you will play a key role in driving and delivering growth. Your expertise in market-leading Vendors will be instrumental in business development across Retention, Development, and Acquisition partners.
Success in this role requires self-motivation, a strong drive to excel, and at least two years of experience as an Internal Account Manager or Product Specialist within the IT sector. Enthusiasm and passion for technology are essential, along with the ability to absorb and communicate knowledge effectively. A proactive, energetic approach to identifying and cultivating pipeline opportunities will be highly valued.

This position is based in Bracknell, Berkshire. Hybrid working - 3 days office/2 days remote

* Specialist Vendor knowledge
o Keep up to date with specific vendor sales product training
o Understand and communicate Vendor promotions
o Maintain competition and market awareness
o Know the Vendor partner programs to support partner onboarding

* Activity Management
o Identifying opportunities within partners
o Tracking progress made with Partners
o Support promotions Internally and Externally
o Take ownership of the opportunities and partner acceleration
* Sales and Pipeline management
o Capturing Activity, recording follow up of opportunities and marketing programs
o Forecast revenue and margin from selected partner accounts
* Engage with the Vendors, Account Directors and Partner Experience Executives; educating them on the program and progress being made
* Work with marketing on program; both internal and external
* Engage the Pre-sales/Solution Architects to support new business opportunities and partner enablement
* Present the Westcon value proposition to partners
* Enablement - Present specific Vendor proposition to partners
Administrative/Self Development
* Forecasting alongside external BDMs and Vendor specialist
* Prepare for and participate in vendor and sales meetings
* Attend relevant trainings internal and external
* Maintain accurate information in relation to activity
* Attend all required internal and external meetings where required
* Maintain and develop own knowledge of Westcon and the Westcon UK Line card
* Respond to customer's requests promptly in a professional, polite and friendly manner and within the agreed customer SLA
* Obtain and evaluate all relevant information to handle inquiries and complaints in a prioritized manner
* Build and maintain business relationship with the vendor, internal and external customers, ensuring actions are processed promptly and accurately
* Dealing directly with customers either by telephone, electronically or face to face
* Direct requests and unresolved issues to the designated individuals and through the workflow tools
* Keep records of customer interactions, transactions, inquiries, comments, and complaints on Sales View
* Record details of actions taken, using workflow tools
In order to be successful in your application the following competencies, skills and experience are required
Essential
* Sales/Business Development experience - 2+ year
* A desire to learn about technology offerings with the ability to convey to others in a clear manner
* Effective, open and professional communication style
* Excellent interpersonal skills - written and verbal
* Self-driven and proactive in progressing sales opportunities
* Demonstrates excellent customer service skills with active listening and responsiveness
* Detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy
* Computer literate - proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook
* A team player who supports and helps their colleagues
Desirable
* Knowledge of the IT Distribution channel
