Our Internal Communications team plays a crucial role in keeping our 4,000 colleagues informed and engaged. From managing core internal channels to organizing leadership conferences, they ensure everyone is aligned with our Mission, Vision, and Values. Join us and help shape the future of train travel on the West Coast Main Line. This role is open for either our Birmingham and London (Euston) office.
Key Skills and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the Health, Safety, Security, and Wellbeing Internal Communications strategy is effectively executed, aligning with overall business objectives.
- Develop and introduce new ideas to improve internal communications channels, ensuring they meet departmental needs.
- Build positive relationships with internal stakeholders, acting as a business partner and advising senior leaders for optimal results.
- Lead cross-organisational internal communications and engagement projects and support the development and delivery of in person and virtual events.
You will have:
- Strong knowledge of internal communications channels, business partnering, and best practices, with experience in large, geographically diverse organisations, preferably delivering H&S comms to frontline audiences.
- Excellent writing skills, attention to detail and ability to develop communication plans; capable of influencing and engaging at all organisational levels including executive leadership.
- Ability to work across multiple stakeholder groups with a collaborative approach and be able to thrive in complex environments like the rail industry quickly assimilating information, including regulatory and change management.
- Relevant experience in internal communications at a managerial level in large operational organisations, proven ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships, challenge and influence effectively; degree-level education or comparable career experience.
