This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified accountant to join our team in a newly created global role where you will be providing financial support to the International Commercial and Global Personal Leadership team on the formation and quantification of their strategy.

Our Finance team plays an essential role in maintaining a healthy balance sheet at AIG. It delivers significant finance support for the overall enterprise, optimizing operations, controllership, funding, and capital structure to honour our stakeholder commitments. The team’s work is invaluable to informing leadership decision making, complying with regulatory requirements, and maintaining financial discipline, transparency and controls, while providing timely and meaningful information.
How You Will Create An Impact
- Support the International Commercial and Global Personal Leadership team on all aspects of financial and profitability reporting.
- Proactively provide finance business partner support to the International Commercial and Global Personal Leadership team using business acumen, analytics and professional insight to drive change, growth and profitability.
- Develop new analytical tools and processes to support leadership insight and decision making.
- Perform analysis and draw insights on premium, losses and expenses, adding insight and recommendations for course correction to drive financial performance of the portfolio and meet targets.
- Development of creative analytics to add new insight and drive discussion and improved decision making.
- Reporting and Monitoring of the Performance of the Business/ Segments (Key P&L items) against plan as well as KPI analysis (business drivers).
- Provide regular executive level presentations for CFO and CEO, and provide presentation support to Finance Business Partners, as well as managing the quarterly earnings preparation and related executive presentations for the Leadership Teams.
- Adapt to leadership reporting requirements and provide as required, through the Global Reporting Centre (GRC) delivery model.
- Close liaison with Global FP&A, Regional Finance teams and Business Partners to support routine activities, such as Monthly CEO reporting, Quarterly Business Reviews as well as Quarterly Earnings preparation.
What You’ll Need To Succeed
- A qualified accountant with significant experience in financial planning and analysis, actuarial or business analysis.
- Experience in areas of financial budgeting, strategic planning and profitability analysis.
- Driven Actuarial or finance individual with in-depth knowledge of Insurance principles; both UW and Expenses.
- Highly analytical mind with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial colleagues.
- Strong operational experience and ability to work to demanding deadlines.
- Advanced ability to work with analytic tools (e.g., Excel, SAP, PowerPoint)
- Well organized, highly detailed, quantitative skills and strong focus on accuracy
- People management experience
