Full time 37.5 hours per week, shifts between 8am and 8pm with weekends on rotation

Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum plus excellent benefits

We are recruiting for an International Patient Coordinator to join our International Relations Team based at The Harley Street Clinic.

We are looking for someone who can deliver a 5* service to our international patients and provide a professional and efficient service to the hospital, ensuring the cultural needs of overseas patients are recognized and satisfied. You will also provide a liaison service to patients, consultants and third parties to facilitate the overall care and financial aspects of service to international patients.

What You’ll Do

  • Central point for embassy liaison to support with queries, referrals and complaints
  • Supervision of International Department with support from Team Leader
  • To explain and translate medical terminology and procedures, including consent forms.
  • To provide accurate and objective translation of messages, discussions and conversations between patient and hospital/medical personnel without subjective interpretation or summarization in order to facilitate complete understanding between parties
  • Assist patients and hospital/medical staff in completing a variety of forms for consent, medical history, etc.
  • To welcome and escort patients for who English is not a first language, explaining the facilities and procedures within the hospital including any relevant health and safety information
  • To provide a sensitive and caring liaison point for the patient to discuss specific needs or concerns
  • To assist in dealing with complaints or concerns ensuring they are directed to the appropriate manager for resolution
  • To assist patients and their families to access other services outside the hospital e.g. accommodation, hairdressers, local mosques
  • To orientate the patient and their family to the local area and other key areas in London
  • Written translation duties

What You’ll Bring

  • Previous experience in a similar role within private healthcare is essential
  • Arabic Speaking is essential
  • Previous Arabic interpreting experience is essential
  • Excellent Communication skills
  • IT Literate
