Senior International Sales Executive
We are seeking a Senior International Sales Executive to maximize sales across Key European markets, who is passionate about books and has a love for travelling.
Your Team
You'll be part of an award-winning and vibrant team focused on international sales of books in the English language. Our focus is on maximizing the global reach of our fantastic publishing programme and fostering strong relationships with partners throughout the bookselling chain, from major retailers and distributors to independent booksellers.
Your Role
As the Senior International Sales Executive, for The Nordics and Europe, you will play a key role in managing all aspects of our day-to-day interactions in these regions to grow our sales. You will report into the Head of International Sales for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and will be responsible for executing a successful strategy that drives sales across all imprints. This role includes nine to twelve weeks of overseas travel per year, so a love for travelling is a must. This is an exciting and multifaceted role that has a tangible impact on our overall success as a team. We value personal effectiveness, being a team player, customer focus, commercial drive and a solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Delivering sales budget targets within the assigned territory
- Planning sales visits and submitting travel plans
- Cultivating and managing relationships with key customers to optimize sales opportunities for front list and backlist
- Promotional and marketing activity in conjunction with the EMEA Head of International Sales, the International Communications team and Macmillan US
- Feeding back on market trends, marketing strategies, popular genres etc to inform current and future acquisition plans.
Essential Experience, Abilities And Knowledge You'll Need To Succeed
- Outstanding communication, sales, and pitching skills
- Proven account management experience
- Trade publishing experience
- Ability to manage shifting priorities while maintaining attention to detail
- Ability to communicate confidently and build effective and collaborative working relationships, both internally and externally
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to respond thoughtfully to changing needs
- Ambitious, positive and a team player
- Desire to travel to your regions
- A passion for books and reading.
Desirable Skills We'd Love You To Have
- Sales experience within the publishing industry.

This is a full time, permanent position and will be based in our offices in Farringdon, London, with some flexibility to work from home each week.
