General Summary:
The Intl Forecasting & Analytics Associate Director will provide quantitative and qualitative forecasting and analytical services for key commercial processes and business decisions and will frequently interact with senior Commercial and Vertex leadership.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop and Lead the Forecasting Process
  • Provide a high degree of support for the monthly forecasting process, which focuses on the current year and the following year and aims to forecast our future performance by modelling the local underlying variables and drivers. 
  • Provide a high degree of support for the annual global long-range planning (LRP) process for the global HEME forecast, which plays a key role in strategic and tactical planning. 
  • Deliver robust quantitative market assessments with a clear articulation of the key drivers, sensitivities, risks and opportunities. 
  • Support for analytics activities will vary but may include ownership of parts of the process, or support through ad hoc analyses. 
Forecast Communication and Reporting
  • Translate complex forecast outputs into clear, strategic narratives for senior leadership, supporting decision-making and commercial strategy. 
  • Develop impactful reports and dashboards to communicate insights in a concise, actionable manner. 
  • Co-Lead, along with the Director of I&A, the presentation to senior management, highlighting the key drivers of our performance and our forecast and outlook projections.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Lead the cross-functional collaboration during the monthly forecast & LRP process to collect and integrate inputs and forecast demand across all markets. 
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders including but not limited to Marketing, Global Marketing, Market Access, Finance, Supply Chain and Marketing Science.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, marketing, biotech, operations, demand planning, or related discipline with extensive years of experience working in data analysis and insights generation
  • Previous experience in Biotech/Pharma/Med Device industry is highly valued
  • Strong analytical and modelling mind-set; demonstrated analytical approach to understand the impact of the way data and reporting is interpreted and utilized for decision-making
  • Innovative and flexible approach – thrive to find solutions outside the box
  • Deep proficiency in MS Excel (advanced functions and pivot tables) and PowerPoint
  • A foundation in statistical concepts incl. regression, significance testing, correlation vs. causation, etc
  • Strong understanding of data models
  • Familiarity with BI/reporting tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, Qlikview, etc.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-driven environment, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize the workload of the team
