Job Advert: Inventory Manager
Day Rate: £400-£500 per day (Inside IR35)
Location: Nottinghamshire (1-2 days onsite per week)
Duration: 12-month contract
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Inventory Manager to oversee and optimize inventory processes within a leading automotive car parts manufacturing organization. This role is pivotal to ensuring effective stock control and inventory accuracy, working closely with the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to maintain smooth operations. The position also involves managing a team of 10-15 individuals, fostering collaboration and productivity within a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the accuracy and availability of stock across the warehouse and manufacturing facility.
- Monitor stock levels, investigate discrepancies, and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and audits to maintain inventory integrity.
- Operate and optimize the Warehouse Management System to streamline inventory processes.
- Generate and analyze reports to identify trends and improve operational efficiency.
- Support system updates and ensure team training on WMS functionality.
- Lead, train, and develop a team of 10-15 warehouse staff.
- Allocate workloads, monitor performance, and provide regular feedback.
- Ensure health and safety protocols are followed within the warehouse.
- Work closely with procurement, production, and supply chain teams to align inventory with operational needs.
- Liaise with external suppliers to manage stock replenishment and minimize delays.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy and warehouse efficiency.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and integrate them into day-to-day operations.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in inventory management within a warehouse environment, preferably in automotive or manufacturing sectors.
- Strong knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory control processes.
- Leadership experience, with the ability to manage and motivate a team of 10-15 individuals effectively.
- Analytical skills and a detail-oriented mindset to identify discrepancies and propose solutions.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in using data analytics tools and generating reports to support decision-making.
- Familiarity with IR35 regulations and contract work is advantageous.
